Hi:

Where I've been concerned about interaction, I have added a wooden dowel to the top of the mast with the
antenna support as high as possible on the dowel. This reduces the interaction. Of course, any nonconductive material such as plastic piping could be used in place of a wood dowel.

If you are able to 'stand off' the antenna from the metal mast by about a foot; the antenna should work OK
