The best reported was -26db. The band conditions and signal strength at the RX end seem to have more to do with IMD than any onboard adjustments. I have tried to be careful not to overdrive the sweet little rig. I am seeing 2W with peaks to 3W in "TUNE" mode (DigiPan). I have tried maximum audio drive and still made contacts without comments about splatter or a wide signal. I am not aware of any IMD tests that Dave Benson might have done. Please send him an emai. He is very good about answering questions about his super designs. I have detected absolutely NO drift of any kind. I fear that I don't understand your question about a received station staying under the cursor - if you are asking about DigiPan, it has AFC that tracks a received station indefinitely and adjusts the xmit frequency in step so that you are never "away from the cursor" as long as you have the "NET" feature turned on. It is strictly a function of the DSP software in the computer. I have not had reports of any drift. Of course it is difficult to determine unless you turn NET off (which I have not yet done). If you are interested in setting AFC threasholds, capture range and sensitivity, you might want to look at the new Zakanaka software. Sounds like you would enjoy doing some experiments with this wonderful new PSK xcvr and its' mate DigiPan 1.2 I am sure you will be delighted with PSK-20 performance. I put it in the car yesterday and sat in the driveway with a laptop computer - PSK-20 performed like a champ once again. Am I the first PSK-20/M? Good test for FD :-) Thanks Frank for your interest in this great advance in Ham Radio digital communications. I recommend it to you without reservation. dit dit |
