I believe it is all about the internet. All the young people go for the chat rooms and forums. One pen pal site, myspace, recently sold for a billion dollars, even I and other hams belong to these pen pal clubs, I belong to 2 of them cyberfriends and mailfriends.com ,I don't bother mentioning amateur to anyone unless they ask me, no one in the world has even heard of it.

Now that we have no code tickets, cw is officially dead in the future. We are the last cw and our numbers will continue to decline. Judging from the ARRL dx contest 99% are using keyboards. The only real cw contest is straight key night and they had to change that so people could use bugs, etc.
