I spent part of CQWWDX CW contest weekend watching Jim VE3KQN churn out a string of contacts on his homebrew indoor loop. With that inspiration, I thought I would "dust off" my 6-turn 160m indoor loop for the 160m QRP Top Band sprint.

I spent a little over an hour playing in the contest. Used the K2 at 5 Watts feeding the loop, which was sitting in the middle of my very messy 2nd floor shack surrounded by metal bookshelves and test equipment racks.

I was absolutely delighted to work four stations, in four states.
N8ET OH
N8BB MI
W3TS PA
KD2MX NJ

W3TS deserves an award for patience, sticking with me for at least 10 minutes trying to squeeze my ARCI # out of the ether (he finally got it, but I don't think he was sure.). I was just about to turn off the rig when I rotated the loop and Paul KD2MX came booming in - he got me on the first call, and didn't even need a repeat. (Thanks more to his 650 ft loop than to my loop !)

As with watching Jim VE3KQN's indoor loop success last weekend, I couldn't help but giggle with each QSO !
