QRP Barbershop: Wednesday Evening, Nov 30, 9-11 pm EST (8-10 PM CST; 7-9
PM MST; 6-8 PM PST)

The QRP Barbershop is a unique CW contest, combining elements of a "hunt"
and a "sprint", but with an emphasis on plain ol' fun. Exchange RST, State
(SPC), Name, & Power. Work "Barbers" (stations with 'ESE' suffix) for a
1000 point bonus (each band, each barber). But work EVERYBODY, because the
top place participants usually need both "customers" and "barbers" to score
big. "Customers" call "CQ BS," and Barbers call "CQ ESE." Bands used
are 20, 40 and 80M. Top scorer gets some handsome wallpaper!

This time, we have at least six barbers ready to serve:
Scotty, W1ESE
Lloyd, K3ESE
Neill, K4ESE
Monty, N5ESE
Scott, W5ESE
Tony, W6ESE

and maybe Trev, K6ESE!

To spice things up a bit, work the QRPp "Crewcut" Barber, running between
1/2 and 1 watt. This time around, that'll be Lloyd, K3ESE. Dig around in
the noise for his peanut whistle, because a contact with him will earn you
the special bonus of 2500 points.

QRPp ops are at no disadvantage, because we use a power multiplier that
pretty much levels the playing field. Report your highest power used, but
to maximize score, use the lowest power possible while still making
contacts. Plus, if you're QRPp throughout the contest, and work at least 3
different barbers, you qualify for a special QRPp certificate ;-)

Reporting results is extra-easy, done online with our "AutoLog" summary system.
