Want to look your best for New Years? Well - stop by the QRP Barbershop tomorrow evening for a shave - and - a - haircut! Or two! or twenty-seven!

It looks like we'll have at least eight or nine Barbers on hand, three bands, so no waiting.

This contest is like a sprint, where all the QSOs you make on each band count toward your score, and SPCs count as multipliers, once per band.

It's also like a hunt, as each contact with a Barber, on each band, adds 1000 bonus points to your score.

It's pretty easy to enter your results and soapbox using the autolog on the web page, at
http://www.io.com/~n5fc/barbershop_contest.htm
where you'll also find all the other info about the event.

Here's the Barber line-up so far:

Monty, N5ESE, in Austin, TX, will be running his K2 and 40M Inv Vee fed with 300-ohm ladder line.

Tony, W6ESE's QTH is 1/2 mile high, in the mountains of San Diego, California - next to the Mount Palomar
Observatory. He'll be using his Drake B-line twins, reduced power.

Jeff, K9ESE, in Muncie, IN, will be running the KX-1 from the hangar with 2 - 3 watts out into an
Inverted L with a 60 foot vertical leg and 60 foot
horizontal leg. Power is from 10 AA batteries.

Trev, K6ESE, might be around, from Los Angeles, CA...time will tell...last contest, he was using a K2 @ 5 Watts into his 88' EDZ inverted vee, 40' at the apex and 12' at the ends. Ends face roughly North-South ...Paddle was either the Schurr Profi II or Begali Magnetic Signature...

Joe, AA4NN, operating K5ESE, says, "I will be in TX for Dec 29 contest. My setup is K2 at 5 watts, center fed zepp up about 24 feet. My plans are to run 20 meters for the first half hour around 14.060, run 40m for the next hour around 7.040, run 80m last half hour around 3.560."

Tom, K2ESE, in Elizabeth, NJ, will be running his MK5 at 5 watts. He will be switching between his 80 meter
dipole, the beam and his Alpha Delta multi band dipole.

Bryan, WOESE, in Holts Summit, MO, will be running a K2 (4523) with 5 watts into a full-wave 20M loop, dipole, or inverted L.

Scott, W5ESE, in his parent's home in Kerrville, Texas will be using the following rigs: 20 meters - Rockmite,
40 meters - Small Wonder Labs SW+, 80 meters - Ten-Tec TKIT 1380. That is, provided he's over the flu by now...

and me, Lloyd, K3ESE, in Reisterstown, MD, will be using my multiPIG+ and a horizontal loop...and maybe a bit of the new AT Sprint 3 on 20 and 40M.

If people can hear a beacon over six million miles away, we all should have no trouble at all working each other tomorrow! The contest runs from 9-11 pm, Eastern time, or 0200-0400Z Thursday morning. Hope to see you there!

Happy New Year to all!
