In transmit the V drops to 13.5, but will only send out 2.5 watts. Unplug the power supply and the rig will send out 5 watts, the blue backlight goes off, and the voltage reads 12.5 (battery only). The power supply supplied by Yaesu puts out 12.3 V at only .5 Amp and cannot be used for transmitting. Here's my conclusion: Something in the microprocessor of the rig does not allow 5 watts output at 13.8 OR whenever the battery is being charged. Anyone else run into this situation? Found a way to fix it? The MFJ power supply is 13.8 V at 2.9 AMP. Any one know of a fix so I can transmit 5 watts on the MFJ power supply? Thanks. TDR |
