Hi Mark

I have just received the 2 Degen 1102's (first attempt at e*bay and muffed it Hi Hi) last night and am thoroughly pleased with them. On 80m I was listening to CW and SSB nets (on the whip) that were not discernable on the DX394 with a long wire. As you mentioned, the fine tune worked perfectly in resolving
SSB. The W/N switch works and had no problem in picking
out individual QSO's. Bandwidth is a lot wider than a
proper amateur rig, but for it's size and performance, I am very impressed.

40m was not bad with CW but this band and 20m were quiet. The SW AM stations were very clear, again better than the 394 and listened in to the launch of the private spaceplane on the BBC, and this is from the other side of the planet in VK. I tried the AM/FM bands and again exceptional performance.

I now have a 1103 on order (grin).

I found my long lost 'Oner' Tx (SPRAT) parts and
will try this shortly (a 1" sq Tx board).

I hope you order one, and bet you will be pleased with it.
