I had an email exchange with Steve and he confirms that the QRP-L home page is indeed gone forever. I had asked about using some of his pages directly on the qrparci site but he declined. More significantly Steve says he is "dropping out of ham radio". This is a sad note of course. Here is some of our exchange:

Thanks, but I'm basically getting out of Ham Radio. In fact, I
haven't been to Dayton in 2 years. The new date conflicts with the
Apple WorldWide Developers Conference in San Jose every year, and I
prefer/need to attend that.
