Boy, it's been a long dry spell since I worked YJ0VB,
FH/G4IRN, 6W/SM0JFH, T20MW, and 3D2VB/R back in Sep/
Oct. I'd just about given up since condx have been such
that there weren't any new ones to chase until 5V7C
showed up from Togo several days ago. I started losing
that old optimism after a while, but he just kept coming
back to 30m, so I just kept calling. It took about 7.5
hours of calling total. This afternoon he was a real
579, then dropped off gradually to 559 as the F2
readjusted into night alignment at his end. As it has
so often happened, that turns out to be the best time
for the west to east direction on the path (no, paths
are not reciprocal except in theory).

So, finally #200 on 30m -- good ol' Sierra!

Now I need 2 more -- UN2 in Kaliningrad doesn't seem
to get my QSL's -- or doesn't answer. So, 2 more
countries give me a 50% chance of getting 200 QSL's!

Also, I worked 23 on 40m with my Altoids-2 last monday. Condx were great, but there were more guys
going down below 7040. My xtal rubbers from 7040.5
down to 7034. I miss half the Spartan Sprint as a
result!

Does anyone know if I can chip off some xtal wafer
and raise the freq? If one can drop the freq by
putting on ink, seems it might work in reverse.
