Subject:  IC-703 Finals Problem

I'm thinking of buying a IC-703 but have been reading the posts re/ failure of finals.

I'm not too concerned if the problem is just a one-time bad part that can be replaced, but if the problem is a bad design, what's to keep the problem from reoccuring after the parts are replaced?

I haven't seen any comments that seem to answer this question.
