Best radio to catch long distance AM stations

Hi,

I ask as a novice and I hope someone will have any ideas or suggestions. I like to listen to AM stations from outside my NY/NJ region for sports, news, etc.

I understand C. Crane Company makes a radio called CC Radio Plus that has the ability to catch the out of town stations very well, compared to most radios.

Does any one know if it works well? Does it have a good reputation? Is there another radio that is better?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks for your time. I want the best product possible.
