Other digtal modes like packet or RTTY may be possible by using an outboard controller, but you asked about PSK :-) Starting from scratch: That said, I use a Toshiba Libretto 50CT for portable PSK: P75, 16 Meg Ram, 6 Gig Hard disk, Win 98Se, modified soundcard to provide an audio input (not for the faint hearted). It is about the same size as the HP320LX. Look for a Libretto 100CT, it already has the soundcard connections. I use the Digipan software (which works well). I use a homebrew interface similar to the Buxcom Rascal (kit) or the commercially available Rigblaster Nomic. For a ready-to-go commerial radio, you may look at something like the Yaesu FT-817, SGC 2020, or the Ten-Tec Argo V. Small Wonder Labs has single band PSK radio kits. They include the interface, run a couple of watts out, and work well. With the Libretto 50CT (used), a 80M Warbler kit, and some solder work, I got PSK-31 on the air for about $200.00. If you can't build and have to buy all commercial, you could spend $1000.00-$1500.00 or so. Have fun :-) 73 - Dave, N4ELM
