I also built this kit. My first and only qrp radio..
besides the crazy little pixie 2 which picks up a local
radio station! The sw 20 kicks butt. Easy to build.
Easy back then to get help from the designer, Dave.
Seems like the volume and reciever are linked, cuz you
have to crank it all the way up to pick up the weaker
signals, and then it is kinda loud on the ears. I like it, but there is no automatic signal reducer like
there is on some other radios(can't remember what the term for that is).
Worked the very first time after assembly. Only prob
with the RIT is they sent a 10k pot instead of a 10 ohm pot, something like that. Frequency counter is in morse code, at the touch of a button. That is my favorite part of the radio I think.
