I have successfully used a 40 meter Hamstick on the top of my car with a 34 foot long counterpoise running 200 mW from my K-1 to work the west coast of the US from my Indiana QTH. Whew! That was a mouthful. Heck, I did that just last week!

QRO to 5 watts and you should do great!
