This e-mail is requesting assistance at the 2003 FDIM (Four Days in May) QRP event. This event is in Dayton, in conjunction with the Dayton Hamvention
and covers May 15 thru May 18, 2003.

Please go to the QRP-ARCI homepage and click on the FDIM link for more information:

As everyone knows, FDIM is the result of a lot of hard work, by a lot of people. Last year, I had a lot of help, and this year, I want to expand the
list of assistance. I would like to keep the work level of many to a little, rather than the work level of a few to a lot.

Several of you are already active in FDIM, and I would like to involve more people into the mix. Some duties can be done, without actually attending
FDIM, but most require attendance. I am not asking anyone to go it alone, but to sign up to be responsible for certain functions and seek assistance
in covering those duties.

Here's the list:

Vice-Chair - This position will act a back-up to me if something were to happen to prevent me from completing my duties, as well as a position whose
long term plan is to transition to take over the total management of FDIM.

Banquet Chair - Would be the host and emcee for the banquet. Main duties would be to work on site with the caterers on set-up and running the programs scheduled during the Banquet.

Publicity Chair - Would work with the ARRL, amateur magazines and local TV and Radio to try to maximize exposure of Ham radio, QRP and FDIM.

Vendor and Club Chair - Would work with the clubs and vendors for the Vendor Night activity as well as other set-up opportunities.

Contests Chair - Would organize and manage the Homebrew and Kit contests as well as the annual specialty contest.

Certificates and Plaques Chair - Would handle the needs of the various Chairs for certificates and plaques needed.

Whew, I probably missed some key items. I was not real specific on the duties, as some can really expand the roles to be really cool, or just hold
the function together. It all depends on the volunteer! I will always be there to help and fill in the gaps.

So what's your pleasure? Even if you cannot assist this year, keep it in mind for future years. If you know someone who would step up and do a great job on a function, please forward this to them and solicit their assistance.

Thanks for everyone's attention and I hope to see many of you at the 2003 FDIM!
