Don't despair. I live in a condo and have had great success with QRP with a VERY marginal antenna. Most of my contacts have been on 20 and 40 meters. I haven't had much success on 30 meters, either.

I have also heard that the G5RV does not do well on 30 meters. It's an antenna optimized for 20 meters.

Most of my success has been obtained by "tail ending" a station after they've signed 73 or by answering a CQ. Hang in there...
