But I have had a lot better luck w/ a G5RV junior lying on my roof than I have had w/ a full size G5RV (102ft) that is up at about 40 feet tween two trees. The shorter antenna seems to work better at the lower height. You can't just cut off the ends of a full size G5RV, you would also need to cut the balanced twin lead also. Just a thought. And of course, some days I can't get out at all and patience is a virtue. 73/Crit/K4BXN
