Last weekend was my first attempt at operating from my 16 foot daysailer. I connected my SW20+ to a shroud through a ZM2 tuner. I trailed a 16' counterpoise behind the boat. I had several qso's and reception was good. For my next sailing operation I plan to connect both shrouds and the forestay together and feed the antenna from below the deck.

I was sailing in fresh water and the mast is not grounded. Connecting the antenna of your receiver to any part of the rigging might work for you.
