While I certainly do my share of CW operating, I am very much an avid QRP SSB operator. I typically use Mizuho handhelds (2W output on HF) and will soon be reacquiring my favorite QRP toy of all time, the Tokyo Hy-Power HT-750 6, 15, and 40 meter HT. Neither are kits, although the Mizuho rigs were available as kits once and every great once in a while one turns up on the used market unbuilt. Other kits to look at include the T-Kit monoband CW QRP rigs and those from Oak Hills Research. Multimode/multiband QRP kits certainly exist, with the Elecraft K2 being the best of the bunch, but they are way more expensive. Enjoy QRP and don't be afraid to ask more newbie questions. I've been at it for 18 years and I am still learning and still come up with questions I'm sure some people think are stupid. 72/73, |
