I recommend the following:

1) Electronic Data Book for Homebrewers and QRPers by Paul Harden NA5N
2) An ARRL Radio Handbook from the early 60's
3) An copy of a recent ARRL radio Handbook
4) A reprint of 1937 "The Radio Handbook" by Jones

You might also watch for a ARRL antenna handbook from the 50 or 60s. You will then have an excellent builders or designers library.
