FDIM 2001 was my first trip to Dayton, my first FDIM, my first participation in a large gathering of Flying Pigs. When I left last year I was sure there would be nothing that could top it.

Then I heard someone new was taking over the FDIM coordination and I was sure that 2001 was going to be the best FDIM ever.

Boy was I wrong. Tom Dooley, Ken Evans, Diz Gentzow, and the rest of the ARCI, NoGA, Flying Pigs, NJQRPers, etc etc made this year the greatest FDIM ever.

The seminars on Thursday were very well done, the building session was nothing short of fabulous....38 folks all building a NoGA Wattmeter and learning about Stockton Bridges (Directional Couplers) and eating some fine tasty pizza. Many of the builders had not built anything "ugly" before and I believe we were all successful.

Friday night the Flying Pigs hosted a "Hog Roast" and FISTS CW Club supplied the beverages. Good food, good drink, and great company.

The banquet on Saturday night was tasty and well run. Lots of prizes given out and best of all was getting to see Jim Kortge inducted into the Hall of Fame.

I can hardly wait for FDIUM 2003.
