Are there any trees available? I've had good luck using a 30 foot piece of wire tossed into a tree with a counterpoise wire on the ground and an Emtech Z match tuner. Antenna and tuner fit in a plastic zip loc bag and weighs less than 1 pound.

I worked Alaska and Europe from Connecticut today on SSB with that setup and an FT-817.
