Just finished a cub kit for 40M and it acts weird. Haven't even tried to align and I'm using a 9V battery but not worried about output yet cuz of my dilemna. After plugging everything in I hear nothing until I key it. Then I get reception. Until I hit the kit again and then there is nothing. Like the QSK isn't letting go. If I hit the key again I can hear. It also doesn't like to be shut up in its case.

Any input would be appreciated.
