Looks to me like the cap used in the HW-8 might be a single section 365mmfd with all but 4 plates stripped off the rotor. If I remember right a single ganged cap is used in the HW-7, but all the plates are present. Is that the 365mmfd cap? Just an idea. Actually, I wonder if that cap could be replaced by a vari-cap diode? My granddaughter ripped mine out of the shaft once, but I was successful in re-seating the 4 plates. Good luck. Jim S.
