Having met many of you folks via internet I had some expectations but, boy, were they exceeded. Liz, however, didn't know what to expect and I can't tell you how impressed she was! In describing our trip to our daughter she said 'Dayton was great, the QRP folks, in particular, were fantastic' She bought a Far circuit board for a regen RX and on the way home even asked me 'I can turn down the power on the TS850, can't I' (she only runs 100W barefoot normally). A BIG thanks to all the QRP-ARCI folks who organised this. We all saw the swan smimming serenely - we sometimes forget about the frantic paddling beneath the surface. A special mention to the Flying Pigs - I think Liz was anticipating a erdudite, technical and somewhat stuffy weekend - you guys certainly helped debunk the stuffy image. Having seen the 'pigstyle' mode of ugly construction she's confident she could produce similiar (even if hers don't work). Thanks to everyone who contributed to such a great weekend. Problem is we enjoyed ourselves so much we've gotta figure out how on earth we can afford to come next year! G0UKB & M0ACL |
