Posted by: KB9BVN Posted On: 05/21/01 Subject: FDIM!! Message Posted: WOW!!! I got home at 2am on Sunday, I am still buzzed from the wild and wonderful time I had at FDIM. This was my first visit to "The Big One" even though I've been licensed since '88...and man did I have a great time. My wagon is draggin' and my boss keeps waking me up... The highlight of the whole thing was when Ed Hare (W1RFI) allowed me to borrow the original TT2 on Friday night, and keep it until the banquet on Saturday night. The Flying Pigs QRP Club put the TT2 on the air and made about 16 contacts total. It was such a RUSH to work with the world famous W1FB designed rig. We are not worthy! Finally meeting all these QRPers in the flesh was great too. I think our club (Flying Pigs QRP Club International) picked up about 75 new members, and we did great in the homebrew contest. I even won an honorable mention for my SMK-1 smothered in pork rinds! "Best Effort for Bribing Judges with Food"...it was incredible.
