I have several old computer power supplies which use torroids as part of the transformer for either the 12 or 5 volt sections. Since the power supply is dead could I use one of the torroids to make a 4:1 balun for use with ladder line (tv twinlead) for some wire antenna's. If so how would I wind the torroid. In other words how many turns on the secondary and primary and does the secondary have to be twisted such as in bifilar designs or could i just wrap 40 turns of one wire and 10 turns for the other??
