Posted by: Sparky Posted On: 03/01/01 Subject: Update on Antenna advice Message Posted: I appreciate everyone who replied. I also consulted the General manual guide and a Stealth Radio guide. Seems like a dipole or loop would work in my case. now the dipole would be 10 to 16 feet off the ground if it was outside(i could have it on the backside of the house under or over the eaves, we dont have gutters anymore, and tie it to a support on the roof and a nearby tree thats about 15 ft. tall) or in the attic. My rig is going to be an Elecraft K1 with the new internal auto tuner. Now my problem is how to feed it to the dipole. Ive heard low loss coax could still give serious loss, especially in my situation. I like the idea of ladderline but how will i attach it to the K1? The K1 comes with a BNC end(i think). any suggestions? with the internal tuner would it be balanced? Should i just stick with coax? |
