The December edition of the Adventure Radio Society's monthly web magazine - The ARS Sojourner - has been posted on the organization's web site and is just a link away at:

http://www.natworld.com/ars

This edition is not only a first-rate closeout of the millenial year, but also announces a dramatic change in compass heading for ARS' technical tack.

With the help of ARS Lab director Russ Carpenter, AA7QU, you'll find the thought and philosphy behind our new direction. Here's a sampling from The ARS Sojourner index.

+ From our Vantage Point: Switching to a Higher Gear
+ The ARS Lab Introduces the Crud Table
+ The ARS Lab Introduces the Receiver Factor
+ The ARS Lab Reviews the Elecraft K-1 Transceiver

Also in the December edition:

+ Building From Schematics: Prototyping Systems Compared
+ An ARS Adventure: Ham Radio and Black Holes, By Bill Jones, KD7S
+ CW From the Field: The Importance of Morse by the Book, by Dave Fischer, NC7W/W7FB
+ Results and soapbox comments from the December Spartan Sprint
+ Wilderness Alerts for December 2000
+ Our Readers Write: Letters to The ARS Sojourner
+ Who's Who And Who's New: New Members of the Adventure Radio Society, by Richard Fisher, KI6SN
+ Upcoming ARS events, including the January '01 Spartan Sprint

In addition, we're proud to announce that veteran author, outdoorsman and QRPer Bruce Grubbs, N7CEE, has been named a contributing editor to The ARS Sojourner.

On behalf of the magazine staff and our member-contributors, we hope you enjoy this year-ending edition. And as always, your suggestions, comments and criticisms are most welcome.

Vy 72,

Richard Fisher, KI6SN
Executive editor, The ARS Sojourner
Riverside, CA
