Here is a basic circuit for the Frank Jones circuit from his 1936 Radio Handbook. You can use 6J6, 12AX7, 6SN7, etc for the tube. Only change will be in the cathode resistor and the value of 300 to 500 ohms should work.

I used back to back filament transformers for the power supply. I get 125 vdc at 15 ma.
