Have you thought about a multiband QRP rig?  My Index
QRP+ has 160 M in it and top band is a hoot on QRP.
Often in winter evenings listen around 1808 - 1811 KHz
and you will find quite a few contral US QRPers, Ade
Weiss among them.

Weird Fun: operate a 160 M contest using the QRP+ with
the attenuator on, and SCAF filter set to 100 or 200 Hz 
BW.  I've gotten 30 - 35 states in one contest QRP even 
with my rather low inv ell wire.
