Unfortunately the drawback to this medium is that it exists only on the web. The nice thing about QRP-L is that I can download and browse/reply while offline. This forum will not allow that, and (sadly) I won't be able to frequent it often. At least the "OPERATING" and "CONTEST" threads are still valid on QRP-L. I have little time and opportunity (at this point in my life) to build, so those more technical threads I most often bypass. I can't seem to find the time to even get the high bands on the Sierra operating.

As for me, I'll probably spend more time on the contest reflectors (as they are still on e-mail, and easy to read).

Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to hb, or hb topics, or elmer, or anything else ... I have built a 38 special, my keyer, an SLT, a WM-2, and a couple of norcal paddles ... just have little time for homebrew at the moment. Having no place to solder is a drawback, too.

I'm not critical of anyone in this or QRP-L operation and management ... it has been a wonderful ride. The owners and managers have the right to do whatever they want -- it isn't a public trust, after all. I just fear that this forum, which is very needed, will not be very successful until it gets off the web and back to e-mail.

Just my zero-two.
