Posted by: Bill, K3AS Posted On: 08/08/00 Subject: Logging Help for Visually Impaired Message Posted: Are there any Visually Impaired QRPers out there who would be willing to share with me what they have learned about logging for QRP contests? My problem is lack of central visual acuity due to age related macular degeneration, which means I can't read or drive a car any more. Up until two years ago I kept a paper log for both contests and general hamming. That is no longer practical because in order for me to read it I must use a felt tipped pen and large letters. So I guess computer logging would be best but I am open to any suggestions. My peripheral vision is OK, so I can see the general format of some of the log pages I have looked at, But I cant see what I am typing and am not a good enough typist to trust getting all the contest info in correctly. This is while using, I think, the largest, boldest type font possible to use with each particular program, but maybe there is more I can do. Any ideas will really be appreciated. I am looking forward to getting back on the air this coming autumn, and put Delaware back in the QRP contests. Thanks and 72. |
