Posted by:  James/VE6QOG Posted On:  06/23/00 Subject:  choke/balun Message Posted: In the process of constructing a hybrid G5RV that is fed with window line cut to achieve 50 ohm at termination as described in QST Vol.79 No.6(June '95) by Bill Wright, G0FAH, it appears to me that the 1:1 balun could be omitted by terminating the coax feed line in a choke configuration to decouple the shield from rf much as one would with a standard center fed dipole? Any comments, am I missing something here?
