Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts?

No. You can not use HTML tags in any field except body of the message. HTML can cause the postings to effect the appearance of the support form and is therefore not allowed.

What new qrp-f features are being studied?

Several new features are have been proposed.  Here are some of them with a priority for solution.  The tech team is dedicated to making this a great forum.  We hope that with the implementation of these features, this will be a excellent tool for QRPers.

1. Email of all posts - A reflector is being established to take an email version of every post and send it to subscibers.  Of course, the programs have to be modified to do this.  We believe this should be up and running by Nov. 15, 1999.  Those who want to keep in touch will subscribe to the reflector.
2. SEARCH - We expect to complete a search feature which will examine not only all current posts but also all archives.
3. HTML - A feature is being implemented to permit you to enter a URL and when your message is read, the reader can "jump" to the specified URL.  This might be a web page, a pix, a schematic, etc.
4. Preview posts - We are still looking at this one. You would be able to review your post BEFORE posting.
5. Sort by date - We believe the email feature will at least let you get the messages as they are posted, but we have some other ideas which will flag those messages posted since your last check of the page.  This should greatly reduce the need for this feature.

Several others are being looked at and will be posted here.  Keep your comments coming!

Are there topics that are prohibited on the forum?

Posts on the forum may be about most things, but obviously we do not allow FLAMING, SPAMMING, or crass advertising of any nature.  We want to see folks treat others with respect.  If we follow this rule when sending, most problems will never occur.

ADVERTISING: By crass, I mean people who work for companies making more than "announcement" type posts.  For example, we would not permit a company to put their own product info on the forum every week, that sort of thing.  An occassional link to their web site would be fine.  Of course, only QRP related products/services may be posted.

VIRUS WARNINGS: Please do not post any "Virus Warning" messages. If you receive an email from a friend warning you about such-and-such a virus, send me an email and I'll check it out promptly. Again, I know such things are done in good faith but I find it a bit embarrassing to have messages on the board propagating yet another virus hoax. They just serve to scare the unknowledgable and you are doing exactly what the originators of the hoaxes intended: taking up bandwidth and giving them their jollies.

SAFE COMPUTING: Also, if you receive an email message with an attachment you did not request, delete it. Do not open it. I don't care who it's from, don't open it. That's it, that's safe computing for the new millennium. Follow that simple rule and don't fret about "Virus Warnings"
